SkeyDrone, Proximus and Senhive join forces for drone detection

Steenokkerzeel/Brussel/Sint-Truiden, 22 October 2024 – SkeyDrone is proud to announce a strategic partnership with Proximus, Belgium’s leading provider of telecommunications and digital services, and Senhive, an airspace technology company. Together, they will introduce a drone detection solution to the market, addressing growing concerns of unauthorised drones compromising the safety of facilities with critical assets.

Driven by rapid technological development, the use of drones in various activities is expected to grow significantly in the coming years. In this context, unauthorised drone activities may pose a substantial threat to different types of organisations, including industrial plants, (air)ports, prisons, datacenters and sports stadiums. Recognising the importance and possible implications of this issue, organisations can benefit from a comprehensive drone detection solution empowering them to proactively identify and mitigate potential risks within their airspace.

Therefore Proximus, Senhive and SkeyDrone have decided to join forces to bring this cutting-edge solution to the market. Leveraging Proximus’ robust infrastructure, Senhive’s drone detection sensors will be strategically installed on eligible telecom towers, allowing to gradually extend the coverage of the drone detection network. Proximus NXT will also play a role in commercialising the solution. SkeyDrone takes charge of the software and services, delivering a comprehensive solution that offers a real-time overview of the airspace traffic situation, visualizes the position of both the drone and the pilot, includes intrusion detection alerts, enables visual analytics and seamlessly integrates with existing UTM systems to distinguish authorised from unauthorised drone flights.

According to Renaud Tilmans, Enterprise Telco Services & Operations Lead of Proximus, “Along with cyber threats, drones are a growing security concern for organisations nowadays, and we expect this trend to continue in the coming years. At Proximus, we aim to contribute to a sustainable and safe digital society. This partnership with Senhive and SkeyDrone perfectly fits within that ambition, allowing to delight our Enterprise customers with comprehensive and smart security solutions.”

Thomas Petracca, CEO of Senhive adds, “Since our founding in 2019, we’ve been driven by the ambition to provide a nationwide solution for optimizing investment and drone threat coverage for our customers. We’re privileged to partner with Proximus, leveraging their extensive telecom tower infrastructure for optimal hardware placement. Additionally, SkeyDrone’s comprehensive data on authorised and unauthorised drones empowers our clients with granular insights for drone threat assessment.”

Hendrik-Jan Van Der Gucht, Managing Director of SkeyDrone comments, With this partnership, Proximus, Senhive and SkeyDrone aim to set new standards in the field of drone security. Our goals is to equip authorities and organisations with a robust, efficient, and proactive solution to safeguard local airspace and protect against potential threats.”
