About the job

We are seeking an experienced back-end engineer with an affinity for technical architecture.
You are part of the Product Operations team, which is composed of product managers and engineers.
Your responsibilities include:

• Technical architecture of our online platform, including API/UI definition, delivery and maintenance.
• Contributing to delivery of our SW, including review of external developments, with focus on back-end.
• Providing guidance on technical choices ranging from design, tooling or partners.

Candidate competences & profile

1. System Design:
   • Creating and documenting architecture designs for software and systems, ensuring they meet business requirements and technical standards.
2. Technology Evaluation:
   • Assessing and recommending the appropriate technologies and tools based on project needs, ensuring they align with the organization’s goals.
3. Technical Leadership:
   • Providing guidance and mentorship to development teams, helping them understand architectural decisions and best practices.
4. Collaboration:
   • Working closely with stakeholders, including product managers, other engineers, technical analysts and UX designer to gather requirements and align solutions.
5. Quality Assurance:
   • Ensuring the architecture incorporates best practices for performance, scalability, security, and maintainability.
6. Troubleshooting:
   • Identifying and resolving technical issues that arise during the development process or post-deployment.
7. Documentation:
   • Maintaining comprehensive architecture documentation that serves as a reference for future projects and guides developers in adhering to the architecture.
8. Stakeholder Communication:
   • Presenting architectural concepts and designs to stakeholders to ensure alignment and understanding across the organization.
9. Continuous Improvement:
   • Staying updated with industry trends and advancements to improve architecture frameworks and practices over time.
10. Project Oversight:
    • Overseeing the implementation of the architecture during projects to ensure adherence to design and standards.
11. Front-End Development (secondary focus):
    • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
    • Experience with front-end frameworks/libraries such as React and Angular.
    • Understanding of responsive design and user experience (UX) principles.
12. Back-End Development (prime focus):
    
    • Knowledge of server-side languages, mainly Java.
    • Familiarity with database management systems like MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar.
13. APIs and Integration:
    • Ability to design and implement RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
    • Experience with integrating third-party services and APIs.
14. Version Control:
    • Proficiency in using version control systems, particularly Git, for collaboration and code management.
15. DevOps and Deployment:
    • Understanding of continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
    • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
16. Agile Methodologies:
    • Familiarity with Agile development practices and tools like Jira or Trello for project management.

• Master’s degree in computer science or a related field. Ability to translate concepts into implementation plans.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience as solution/technical architect, BE-engineer or a similar role.
• Proven track record of designing, realizing and maintaining an online & secure B2B platform.
• Solid information security knowledge, able to implement NIS2 or alike directives.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
