U-space Explained: Watch Our Exclusive Training Session

With the rapid emergence of drones in a box solutions, the need for scalable Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) flights has never been more pressing. These advanced systems have the potential to revolutionize industries, but their full potential can only be realized through safe and efficient integration with other airspace users. This is where U-space comes into play. Without U-space Service Providers (USSPs), U-space itself cannot exist. At SkeyDrone, we’re on track to becoming one of the first certified USSPs in Europe, paving the way for seamless BVLOS operations.

Recently, Jean-Pierre De Muyt, our Head of Regulatory Affairs, delivered an insightful training on U-space, covering following topics:

  • Introduction to U-space
  • Implementation of U-space in Belgium through the BURDI (Belgium – Netherlands U-space Reference Design Implementation) project
  • Obligatory U-space Services: geo-awareness, flight authorisation, network information, and traffic information
  • Optional U-space Services: weather information service and conformance monitoring service

Want to dive deeper? We’ve made the training available! Watch it now to learn all ins and outs of U-space in 40 minutes.
